We can maintain good health by having a regular physical check-up. We can keep our car performing at a high level of efficiency by having a regular diagnostic check-up. We have a spiritual life that also requires a frequent check-up. Here are some tests to give your spiritual life. We hope they prove helpful. - Am I spending time in His Word and in prayer? (John 15:1-8; Colossians 3:16)
- Am I living my life in a manner worthy of the gospel? (Ephesians 4:1)
- Am I getting to know God better? (Ephesians 1:17)
- Am I trying to love God with all my heart? (Matthew 12:30)
- Am I doing unto others as I would have them do unto me? (Matthew 7:12)
- Am I controlling my tongue? (James 3:1-12; Ephesians 4:29)
- Am I honest in everything I do and say? (Colossians 3:9)
- Am I being faithful to promises and commitments I’ve made? (Matthew 5:37)
- Am I working on areas of my life that need correcting? (1 Timothy 4:7)
- Are there areas of my life that would shame me if they became known? (Psalm 90:8)
- Is my life a role model for others to follow? (1 Corinthians 11:1)
- Am I adopting any worldly attitudes (1 John 2:15-17; James 4:4)
- Am I seeking godly wisdom? (James 1:5; James 3:13-18)
- Am I striving to live a Spirit-filled life? (Ephesians 5:18)
- Have I invited God to inspect my heart? (Psalm 139:23-24)
- Have I sought forgiveness for my sins? (1 John 1:7-9)
- Am I taking up my cross daily and following Jesus? (Luke 9:23)
- Am I dressed in the armour of God? (Ephesians 6:10-18)
- Am I offering my life to God each day as a holy sacrifice? (Romans 12:1)
- Am I praying for the salvation of my family and friends? (Romans 9:1-5; Romans 10:1-2)
