Welcome to

RANELAGH CHRISTIAN CHURCH

You’re Welcome here!

At the Ranelagh Christian Church (Church of Christ) we seek to be a community that lives in the presence of Jesus Christ and declares his good news. As disciples of Christ we endeavour to live out his teachings in every aspect of our lives. We invite all who want to be disciples of Christ to join us in this journey.

We use the Bible to inform our church life: admission into the body of Christ is upon a profession of faith in Jesus and baptism by immersion; we celebrate the Lord’s Supper each Sunday; and sing a cappella. We meet on Sundays for worship and Bible study for all age groups, and throughout the week for prayer and discipleship. All members are encouraged to use their gifts to the glory of God and to deepen their relationship with him.

Matthew Stephens serves the church as our Minister. He was born in Nairobi, Kenya to missionary parents. He lived in Kenya until he was fourteen years old when his family returned to the United States.

Matthew attended Abilene Christian University where he completed two graduate-level degrees (Masters of Divinity and Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy). In 2015 Matthew and his wife Janille moved to Boston, Massachusetts where their sons Abraham and Samuel were born. In 2020 they moved to Dublin, Ireland to work with the Ranelagh Christian Church.

Matthew worked with a church in Boston for five years. He is deeply committed to the authority of the Word of God and building others up in the Christian faith. He also has experience in individual, couple, and family counselling. He was a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Massachusetts before he moved to Ireland. He enjoys reading, learning the history and culture of Ireland and spending time with his family.
